Welcome Aboard
home of the bucs
Welcome to the best hall at the University of Notre Dame. No, seriously. Baumer Bucs make up a brotherhood unlike any other on campus. The four years you spend at Notre Dame are marked by the strong community we share in Baumer. Whether it’s eating a meal altogether at the signature Baumer Table™ in South Dining Hall, grilling burgers in Baumer Bay on a nice fall day, or winning intense soccer matches with our Sporting Pepto Soccer Team, Baumer Hall is a visible representation of the finest quality of men. You can recognize a Baumer Buc by his sincerity, care for others, and sense of inclusion.
The Fifth Voyage
This year marks our fifth year of being the best dorm on campus, and we’re committed to continuing this legacy on what we all call The Fifth Voyage. To all our first-years, congratulations on your selection to become a member of this great hall, and we look forward to your arrival in August. Our Welcome Weekend Team has been putting in the hours this summer to make sure of a safe and sound arrival on the ship. Your journey awaits.

Co-Chair
George Henken
Hi everyone! My name is George Henken, and I’m a junior from St. Louis, MO. Baumer has treated me well over the past two years, and I could not have asked for a better dorm environment. I am majoring in Accounting in the Mendoza College of Business, and I have a minor in the Business Honors Program. On campus, I’m on the club volleyball team as a player and officer, I’m a practice player for the women’s volleyball team, and I’m one of the Finance and Budgeting Commissioners in Baumer. Some of my hobbies include playing volleyball, playing card games, golfing, and New York Times games.
I look forward to welcoming our new students to the best dorm on campus. I can’t wait to meet you all — if you ever have any questions, feel free to reach out. Go Bucs!

A Letter To New Students From George and Peter
Welcome to Baumer Hall, Gentlemen!
We are excited for you to join this community, and can’t wait for your arrival in a few short weeks. As you settle into Baumer Hall, know that you are moving into more than just a residence – you are entering a supportive and welcoming community with some of the brightest men on campus.
Whether it be late night study sessions, Saturday game days, time spent in the chapel, hall council meetings, section events, or dorm intramurals, you will find opportunities where brotherhood is formed, ideas are exchanged, and memories are created. The current residents will all tell you that there is something always happening here – your time ahead in Baumer will be filled with a variety of events promoting brotherhood, charity, faith, and fun.
As for your time during Welcome Weekend, take time to explore everything Baumer has to offer. We have plenty of events planned for you all and plenty of ways to get you settled into your new home. However, we do understand that although the start of your Notre Dame journey is exciting, it can at times be overwhelming. That is why we have a strong support system and a strong circle of students and staff ready to welcome you – us co-chairs, the Welcome Weekend team, and all of hall staff are here for you during Welcome Weekend and beyond.
That being said, if you have any questions or concerns as you get ready for move-in, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Our emails are above in our bios, so please feel free to contact us.
Again, welcome to Baumer Hall and we look forward to move-in!
